These window displays celebrate football and the communities it creates.
On one side, the windows capture moments of joy and excitement at a football stadium full of bright lights and cheering fans. On the other side, they are a window to nostalgic moments we can all relate to, playing a friendly street football match outside of our childhood homes. At many moments we see the inclusivity of the sport, especially through the humble beginnings of the famous football players we cheer on and love.
The structure is built out of scaffolding like wires and bars, covered or dressed in a sheer fabric. The transparent quality of the overall windows create the nostalgia of a fading joyful memory. The windows were designed in collaboration with Doha Design District, Msheireb Properties and VCUarts Qatar. The windows display sports abaya collections and other streetwear designed by the VCUarts Qatar fashion design students.
